Class of 1951 to lunch

Fairmont High School class of 1951, spouses and friends will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont.

City of Lakes Garden Club to meet

City of Lakes Garden Club of Fairmont will meet 1:30 p.m. Friday at the home of Ann Osborn in Fairmont. Note the change of time and date. The purpose of the organization is to encourage all forms of horticulture in the home and community. Those interested in becoming a member or who would like more information may call Myrtle Heifner at (507) 235-8535. New members are welcome.

Welcome festival fundraiser set for Friday

There will be a fish fry fundraiser from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday at the Welcome Legion. The menu will include all-you-can-eat breaded pollack and shrimp, a baked potato and coleslaw. Proceeds will be used for the Welcome Summer Festival. All are invited.

Bittenbinder benefit breakfast scheduled

Knights of Columbus will sponsor a breakfast benefitting the Jim Bittenbinder family from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Fairmont. They will serve pancakes with syrup, sausages, milk, juice and coffee. Donations will be accepted, with all proceeds given to the Bittenbinder family to help offset costs incurred as a result of Jim’s accident. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Truman history group plans fundraiser

Truman Historical Association will hold its spring turkey dinner fundraiser and membership drive from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Truman Community Building. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 while children 5 and younger eat for free. Catering will be done by Nancy Jo’s. Keeping the museum open is dependent on sustained membership. A one-year membership is $10 per person. The public is cordially invited.
