Red Rock plans Tuesday lunch event

Lunch with the Arts program will be held noon Tuesday at the Red Rock Center in Fairmont. Free musical entertainment by the V-Notes featuring a variety of polkas and waltzes. Bring a sack lunch if desired. Refreshments will be served. This event is free and everyone is welcome.

Library to hold Wiggles and Words event

Join library staff for Wiggles and Words 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Martin County Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. These sessions are for children, newborn to age 2, and an adult. There will be stories and playtime. There is no need to register and no cost to attend. With questions, call the library at (507) 238-4207 or visit their website at www.martincountylibrary.org.

CREST Low Vision Support Group to meet

CREST Low Vision Support Group will have its next meeting 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the CREST offices located at 820 Winnebago Ave. in Fairmont. The special speaker will be Charlene Guggisberg from the State Services for the Blind, who will speak on the various disease processes leading to reduced vision. She will also be demonstrating assistive devices that are available from the State of Minnesota at no charge. This support group will be very useful for those with impaired or low vision as well as blindness. An invitation is also extended to those who care for or assist individuals struggling with various eyesight issues.

Coffee and cookies will be served following the presentation. If you would like more information on this support group, you may call the CREST office at (507) 235-3833.

Farmers Market association sets meeting

Fairmont Farmers Market Association will have its annual meeting 5:30 p.m. Thursday in room 112 on the Southern Minnesota Educational Campus located at 115 S. Park Street in Fairmont. Use the south door. In addition to the meeting, possible new vendors can learn about what it takes to become a vendor of the Fairmont Farmers Market.
