Boy Scouts to host pancake breakfast

Boy Scout Troop 56 will host a pancake breakfast celebrating “Scout Sunday” from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church, 300 S. Grant St., Fairmont. The menu will include all-you-can-eat pancakes, scrambled eggs, choice of sausage or ham, milk, juice and coffee. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling (507) 236-3805 or at the door. Children age 5 and under eat for free with an adult ticket cost. All proceeds will be used to support Boy Scouts Troop 56. Everyone is welcome to attend.

CER announces upcoming activity

Fairmont Community Education and Recreation will hold a community activity next week. There will be a parent/child acrylic pour Valentine’s class from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 9 in room 160 at Fairmont Elementary School. Enter through door 15A. The instructor will be Jessica Schwantes Greve with Tree Ring Art, who will show attendees how to use acrylic pouring techniques to create painted hearts for Valentine’s Day. For $25, adults will receive a large wooden heart to paint while children will receive a smaller wooden heart to paint. Additional hearts will be available for purchase (large $10, small $5). Library to host Toddler Tinker Lab

The next monthly Toddler Tinker Lab will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Martin County Library, 110 N. Park St., Fairmont. The “lab” is designed to allow toddlers to explore, grow and create with a variety of activities each month. No registration is required. This event is free and open to the public.
