NEW ULM — Ella Friederich captured top honors on the uneven bars and the floor exercise to pace her first-place showing in the all-around competition to propel the New Ulm Area Eagles to a 129.1-123.35 dual-meet victory over the Martin County Area Magic on Thursday night in New Ulm.

Friederich generated a winning overall individual total of 33.125 points on the strength of No. 1 scores on the floor (8.9) and unevens (8.05). Friederich also claimed third on the vault with an 8.525, while adding a fourth-place effort on the balance beam (7.65).

Olivia Eckstein, who netted runner-up all-around accolades with a score of 32.325, won the balance beam crown with an 8.525-scored performance. Eckstein also placed third on the floor (8.5) and fourth on the unevens (6.925).

Lillie Schultz, Mollie Leiding and Abi Chavez captured fourth (31.5), fifth (30.125) and sixth (29.35), respectively, in the all-around to pace MCA’s effort.

Schultz rotated and landed her Tsuk to strike gold on the vault with a 9.025 for the Magic, while Mollie Leiding contributed a fourth-place vault at 8.45.

Schultz also garnered third place on the unevens with a 7.025, while Chavez rounded out the top five with a score of 6.85.

Ava Thate and Mollie Leiding delivered a second- and third-place finish on the balance beam for MCA. Thate earned runner-up honors with a total of 7.875, while Leiding netted third with a 7.775 effort.

Chavez and Schultz capped the Magic’s top-five performances by meriting fourth (8.2) and fifth (8.175), respectively.

New Ulm Area’s Josie Sellner claimed third in the all-around by generating a 31.825.

Martin County Area competes in the Sweetheart Invitational at 11 a.m. today in Jackson.
