12U girls hockey, Squirts net two victories each

FAIRMONT — The Car Parts Direct 12U girls hockey team of Fairmont generated two wins and one tie during ice action Dec. 18-19 at Martin County Arena.

Bella Newville netted Fairmont’s only goal during a 1-all tie with Redwood Falls on Dec. 18 in Fairmont.

Mariel Parish then delivered both goals to propel Car Parts Direct to a 2-1 victory over the Cannon River Royals in its second contest on Dec. 18.

Parish produced a game-best hat trick to power Fairmont to a 9-1 trouncing of Worthington on Dec. 19.

Addie Folkerts and Harper Artz each netted two goals for Car Parts Direct, while Lexi Haycraft and Lauren Bettin chipped in one goal apiece.

The Car Parts Direct 12U girls hockey team plays host to Windom at noon New Year’s Day at Martin County Arena before traveling to Sleepy Eye on Sunday, Jan. 2, for a 9:30 a.m. game against New Ulm/Sleepy Eye.

The Fairmont Squirt ‘B’ hockey team netted back-to-back wins Dec. 18-19 at home and on the road, respectively.

Ryder Thate and Halyn Haycraft each produced two goals, while Hogan Artz distributed two assists to pace Fairmont’s 4-1 triumph over Marshall White on Dec. 18 in Fairmont.

Van Kollofski recorded 20 saves between the pipes to earn the win for Fairmont.

Five different players reached the scoring column to deal a 5-2 loss to New Ulm/Sleepy Eye on Dec. 19 in Sleepy Eye.

Kollofski generated one goal and one assist, while Thate, Kaleb Kennedy, Bennett Draper and Kane Wohlhuter each lit the lamp once.

Artz doled out an assist, while netminder Blakeley Scholl tallied five saves to round out Fairmont’s winning effort.

The Fairmont Squirt ‘B’ hockey team plays host to a doubleheader on Sunday, Jan. 2, at Martin County Arena. Fairmont faces Lakes at 10:30 a.m., followed by a 2:30 p.m. contest against Worthington B1.

The Carlson Dental Bantams hockey team netted a split decision during ice action Dec. 18-19.

Eric Determan erupted for a game-best five goals and two assists, while Gavin Kester produced four goals to steamroll Fairmont to an 11-3 triumph over Marshall on Dec. 18 in Marshall.

Caleb Meyer contributed two goals and one helper to Fairmont’s winning ways, Klay Beemer dished out two assists, while Barret Scholl and Tyler Kurt distributed one helper each.

Brandon Hector turned away 23 shots to earn the win between the pipes for Carlson Dental.

Worthington then skated to a 5-2 win over Fairmont on Dec. 19 at Martin County Arena.

Beemer and Kurt each netted unassisted goals for Carlson Dental, while Hector chalked up 31 saves.

The Carlson Dental Bantams hockey team travels to Sleepy Eye on Sunday, Jan. 2, for a 3:45 p.m. game against New Ulm/Sleepy Eye.
