WORTHINGTON — Martin County Area junior Sabrina Segar and the Worthington Trojan gymnastics team earned return trips to the Class A state meet.

Hali Bullerman (36.275) and Gracia Elias (35.65) produced a respective 1-2 finish in the all-around to power the Trojans to their sixth consecutive Section 3 crown on Saturday in Worthington.

The Trojans hit the equipment at Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul at 11 a.m. Friday in the Class A state team competition, while Segar and her fellow individual state qualifiers compete at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilkins Auditorium.

Segar, who will make her third consecutive state appearance, qualified on both floor and vault. Segar captured second (9.225) to Bullerman (9.375) during the sectional’s floor exercise, and claimed fourth overall on the vault (9.05).

Segar generated 34.4 points to net fifth in the all-around Saturday to top the Magic’s fourth-place team total of 131.675. Bullerman and Elias combined forces with individual state qualifiers Kara Thuringer, Mekyla Nystrom and Presley Eggers to fuel the Trojans’ winning mark of 142.0.

Marshall’s Saphi McFarquhar netted third in the all-around (35.6) to net a state bid, while Avery Wilson took fourth overall (35.025) to pace Redwood Valley’s second-place team total of 134.3.
