Fairmont game to be reslated
MANKATO — The Fairmont Cardinal boys basketball team’s third-place Kwik Trip Holiday Invitational game against St. Clair on Monday night was postponed due to inclement weather.
Tentatively, the game will be rescheduled on an open date in February.

12U hockey falls to Okoboji, 4-2
FAIRMONT — Okoboji netted a 4-2 win over the Wyffels Hybrids 12U girls hockey team Dec. 21 at Martin County Arena.
Brooklyn Murphy and Jadyn Musser produced goals for the Fairmont-based team, while Abi Sundeen doled out an assist.
Goaltender Lily Truesdell recorded 22 saves for Wyffels (5-5), which travels to Windom for a 1:30 p.m. game Saturday.

BLC’s Geistfeld garners award
MANKATO — Bethany Lutheran Colleg post player Hanna Geistfeld was selected as the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference’s women’s basketball player of the week.
Geistfeld, a former Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther standout, matched her career-high by pouring in 31 points during the Vikings’ victory over Saint Benedict.
The Truman native connected on 11 of 18 field goals to complement grabbing seven boards.
The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated by conference coaches and sports information directors before being selected by the SIDs.
The awards are announced each Monday afternoon.
