Fairmont Summer Run on July 27
FAIRMONT — The 41st annual Fairmont Summer Run will kick off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at Bob Bonk Track on the Fairmont High School campus.
The oldest continuous run in southern Minnesota, which is coordinated by Community Education & Recreation, will consist of runs of 5 miles, 2 miles, a half-mile and a quarter-mile.
The 5-mile run opens the event at 8:30 a.m., with the 2-mile run/walk scheduled for 9:30 a.m. The quarter-mile run — for ages 9 and under — takes place at 10 a.m., followed by the half-mile run — for ages 13 and under — at 10:05 a.m. A brief awards program will follow the completion of the final race.
The headquarters for the run will be the Fairmont High School fieldhouse.
The pre-registration fee for students in the 2- and 5-mile races is $12, the pre-registration cost for adults is $15, while the cost for race-day registration is $20 per runner. The half-mile and quarter-mile races are free.
