Fairmont U18 girls’ soccer wins six of seven

FAIRMONT — The Saxton Family Partnership U18 girls soccer team of Fairmont recorded six wins in its past seven games.

Sami Lenort posted two goals and an assist in Fairmont’s 6-1 win over Austin on Monday in Fairmont.

Ellie Schultze and Lexi Kaufman each added a goal and an assist, while Alexis Newville and Rayah Quiring each had a goal and Kady Pedroza and Brooklyn Meyer each had an assist in the winning performance.

Kalie Hanna and Kaiden Boerner split goalkeeping duties with Hanna making one save and Boerner collecting five.

Kaufman and Quiring scored one goal each, while Lenort had an assist in Fairmont’s 2-1 win over Albert Lea on June 27 in Albert Lea.

Cadence Becker made five saves to net the win for Fairmont.

Becker made 13 saves in Fairmont’s 2-1 win over St. Peter on June 24 in St. Peter.

Kaufman scored off an assist from Shelby Fogelson, while Quiring scored on a penalty kick for Fairmont’s two goals.

Schultze and Lenort each scored a goal, while Lenort and Kaufman each had an assist in Waseca’s 3-2 win over Fairmont in Apple Valley on June 22.

Becker made 10 saves in net for Fairmont during the team’s first game of the Burnsville United Tournament.

In Game 2 of the Burnsville United Tournament, Schultze and Quiring each scored a goal, while Quiring added an assist and Kaufman had an assist.

Becker and Hanna split goalkeeping duties, with Becker saving two shots and Hanna making five saves to lead Fairmont to a 2-0 win over Minnesota Rush.

Kaufman scored the lone goal and Becker made one save in Fairmont’s 1-0 win over Cities Kangas in Game 3 of the Burnsville United Tournament on June 23.

Kaufman scored a goal on a Quiring assist, then the two switched for a Quiring goal on a Kaufman assist to lead Fairmont to a 2-0 win over Mankato on June 20.

Hanna and Becker split goalkeeping duties with Hanna making four saves and Becker making three.

U15 Girls Division

Associate Optometry 1, Albert Lea 1 — Cayla Phinney-Colby scored on a free kick, while Abby Cihoski made fives saves in net and Hannah Bergt made three saves in net during a 1-1 tie with Albert Lea on Tuesday in Albert Lea.

Phinney-Colby collected a hat trick and added an assist during a 6-1 Fairmont win over Minnesota Rush on June 26 in Fairmont.

Emma Scheppmann scored two goals, while Alexis Rojo added one and Kate Busche and Abby Cihoski both had an assist.

Fairmont netminders Cihoski and Bergt split duties, with Cihoski making two saves and Bergt making five.

Cihoski had five saves and Bergt had four in a 0-0 Fairmont tie with Albert Lea on June 25 in Fairmont.

Lexi Hinz scored two goals, while Selma Bleess had one in Fairmont’s 3-1 win over Faribault on June 20 in Faribault.

Phinney-Colby and Mackenzie Carlson each had an assist, while Fairmont netminder Cihoski had seven saves.

U13 Girls Division

Harpenau 3, Car Parts Direct 1 — Fairmont goalkeeper Madi Stromberg made 16 saves in net during a Harpenau 3-1 win over Fairmont on Tuesday in Fairmont.

Brylee Miller scored on an Elayna Anderson assist for Fairmont’s lone goal.

Stromberg made 10 saves in a Harpenau 5-0 victory over Fairmont on June 27 in La Crescent.

U11 Girls Division

Madson Land Surveying 2, Mankato 0 — Morgan Martinson made 10 saves in net, while Ida Rohman had one save to lead Fairmont to a win over Mankato on Tuesday in Mankato.

Frankie Martin scored both Fairmont goals, the first off a Rohman assist, the second off a Abbie Simpson assist.

U18 Boys Division

Bank Midwest 1, Waseca 1 — Alex Wannarka made seven saves in net during a tie between Fairmont and Waseca on June 29 in Waseca.

Camden Hamlet scored off a Josh Bergt assist for Fairmont’s lone goal.

U14 Boys Division

Worthington 6, Lawn Solutions 0 — Ethan Pockrus and Jorvik Jensen split goalkeeping duties during a Worthington win over Fairmont on Tuesday in Worthington.

Pockrus made nine saves between the pipes, while Jensen added six.

U12 Boys Division

Marshall 10, Rosens Diversified Inc 0 — Angel Sanchez and Thomas Hamlet split time in net for Fairmont during a Marshall victory on June 28 in Fairmont.

Sanchez had four saves, while Hamlet had nine.

Jeremiah Lebbi collected a hat trick, while Jaydon Putney added a goal in a 4-3 Fairmont win over New Ulm in New Ulm on June 27.

Sanchez had two saves in net for Fairmont, while Lucas Rasburg had five.
