12U girls earn three victories

FAIRMONT — The Cavers Realty 12U girls hockey team of Fairmont captured wins in three of its past five games on the ice.

Isabella Larson produced four goals and goaltender Ilana Moeller made 16 saves to power Fairmont to a 5-1 victory over St. Peter/Le Sueur-Henderson on Sunday.

Alexandra Martin netted Cavers’ other goal off an assist from Keara Flanagan as the team finished with 40 shots on goal.

Marshall edged Fairmont, 3-2, during action Saturday.

Martin scored a pair of goals off assists from Larson to account for Cavers’ point production.

Moeller recorded 14 saves for Fairmont, which had 31 shots on goal.

Jozie Hoefker produced a hat trick and Moeller made three saves to net a shutout to guide Fairmont to a 7-0 win over Windom last Saturday.

Larson generated two goals, Abigail Sundeen netted one goal and one assist, while Martin added a goal for Cavers in the win.

Karissa Newville and Flanagan each doled out one assist for Fairmont, which unloaded 33 shots on goal.

Luverne then posted a 4-1 victory over Fairmont last Sunday.

Larson netted a goal off a double assist from Newville and Hoefker for Cavers, which had 25 shots on goal. Moeller made six saves in the loss.

Hoefker generated a hat trick and one helper, Charli Clow tallied two goals and dished out one assist, while Larson distributed five assists to engineer Fairmont’s 7-0 triumph over Worthington last Sunday.

Shaye Dietz and Martin each scored one goal, while Sundeen added one assist for Fairmont.

Moeller made five saves to pocket the shutout for Cavers, which had 24 shots on goal.

The Cavers Realty 12U girls hockey team of Fairmont plays host to Luverne at noon Saturday at Martin County Arena.

10U girls team merits shutout

FAIRMONT — The Car Parts Direct 10U girls hockey team of Fairmont netted a 6-0 shutout over Faribault on Sunday at Martin County Arena.

Netminder Jadyn Musser recorded four saves to pocket the win for Fairmont, which had 23 shots on goal.

Frankie Martin collected a hat trick to pace Fairmont’s offense, while teammates Brooklyn Murphy, Addison Folkerts and Harper Artz each contributed one goal to the win.

Maia Goerndt and Bella Newville doled out two assists apiece, while Carly Gustafson added one helper.

The Car Parts Direct 10U girls hockey team of Fairmont (13-4-1) travels to Redwood Falls on Saturday for a 4:30 p.m. game.

Squirts ‘A’ hockey falls to Marshall

FAIRMONT — Marshall defeated the Beemer Companies Squirt ‘A’ hockey team of Fairmont, 9-4, on Jan. 26 at Martin County Arena.

Klay Beemer scored two goals for Fairmont, while Gavin Kester supplied one goal and one assist. Macklain Anderson chipped in one goal, while Preston Cepress doled out an assist.

Goalie Tanner Pankow made 22 saves for Beemer Companies, which had 21 shots on goal.

Beemer Companies Squirt ‘A’ (10-7) faces Rushmore at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the first round of the Brookings, S.D., tournament.
