10U hockey wins 3 of last 4 games

FAIRMONT — The Car Parts Direct Fairmont 10U girls hockey team produced wins in three of its last four games on the ice.

Maia Goerndt generated four goals and one assist to help power Fairmont to an 11-1 victory over Faribault on Dec. 29 in Faribault.

Jadyn Musser and Madison Sokoloski each netted two goals and one assist for Car Parts Direct, while Harper Artz and Bella Newville contributed one goal and three assists apiece.

Joslyn Meyer tallied one goal, Addison Folkerts and Frankie Martin each doled out two assists, while Carly Gustafson added one helper.

Goalie Lexi Sundeen made six saves to net the win for Fairmont, which unleashed 39 shots on goal.

Sokoloski produced a hat trick to steer Car Parts Direct to a 7-2 win over Redwood Falls on Dec. 22 at Martin County Arena.

Brooklyn Murphy, Gustafson, Folkerts and Artz each netted solo goals in the winning effort, Goerndt doled out two assists, while Meyer and Newville added one helper each.

Netminder Jadyn Musser turned away eight shots to net the win for Fairmont, which tallied 19 shots on goal.

Sundeen made 13 saves to earn the shutout as Car Parts Direct zipped Mankato, 2-0, Dec. 16 in Mankato.

Murphy tallied one goal and one assist, Artz scored a goal, while Folkerts and Ava Clow chipped in assists.

Marshall edged Fairmont, 3-2, during ice action Dec. 15 at Martin County Arena.

Musser generated one goal and one assist for Fairmont, while Sokoloski chipped in a goal for Car Parts Direct, which had 18 shots on goal. Sundeen made 15 saves on the game.

The Car Parts Direct Fairmont 10U hockey team (8-3) travels to Marshall today for a 4:45 p.m. game with Marshall. Fairmont then returns to Martin County Arena on Sunday for a noon contest with Mankato.
