ARMSTRONG — The Forest City Indians posted a 70-36 win over the North Union Warriors during Top of Iowa Conference boys basketball action Tuesday night.

Rob Ortman scored 12 points on 6-for-6 field-goal shooting to top the Warriors, while teammate Elliott Hagebock produced eight points and a team-best seven rebounds.

The Warriors made 14 of 20 shots from 2-point range for 70 percent, 1 of 5 behind the 3-point arc and 5 of 7 free throws.

North Union (0-2) plays host to Estherville-Lincoln Central tonight in Armstrong.

7th-grade falls

in two games

FAIRMONT — New Ulm swept Fairmont in a seventh-grade boys basketball doubleheader on Tuesday.

New Ulm defeated Fairmont in the ‘A’ game, 54-20.

Hudson Laven, Ethan Geerdes and Levi Pooley scored four points each for Fairmont, while Blaze Geiger grabbed five rebounds.

New Ulm claimed the ‘B’ game, 27-14.

Guy Davis netted four points for Fairmont, while Allon Chen tallied three points and four steals.

Fairmont travels to Blue Earth today for 4:30 p.m. games.
