Athlete-parent meeting at PAC

FAIRMONT — There will be a Fairmont Cardinal student athlete-parent meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at Fairmont High School’s Performing Arts Center.

Students and at least one parent are encouraged to attend the meeting.

Roggow drains a hole-in-one

FAIRMONT — Brian Roggow of Fairmont shot a hole-in-one on Saturday at Interlaken Golf Course.

Brian Roggow used a pitching wedge to drain the 136-yard shot on the fifth hole.

Deb Roggow witnessed the feat.

Weber garners Rose Lake title

FAIRMONT — Cordell Weber captured the Rose Lake Golf Club’s men’s championship during weekend action at the Fairmont-based golf course.

Parker Stevens claimed the president’s flight, while Sean Flanagan took top honors in the first flight. Mike Wasmund netted first in the second flight, while Dan Bacon pocketed second place.

Kevin Roforth earned the No. 1 spot in the third flight, while Al Travis garnered second place. Steve Pierce won the fourth flight, while Greg Stevens placed first in the fifth flight.

Wasmund also captured the senior division, while Roforth merited first in the super senior division.

Chelsea Green fired the low gross score in the women’s championship flight, while Paulette Lehr won the low net competition.

Joy Johnson and Jeanie Green claimed the low gross and low net crowns, respectively, in the first flight.

Martins host Milroy tonight

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Martins host the Milroy Irish in Game 1 of their best-of-3 Region 13C amateur baseball championship series at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Herb Wolf Field in Fairmont.

The Martins face the Irish in Game 2 on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in Milroy. If a Game 3 is necessary, Milroy returns to Fairmont on Sunday for a 2 p.m. showdown.
