Class of 1949 to cancel meeting
Fairmont High School class of 1949 will not meet for lunch today.
CER announces upcoming activity
Community Education and Recreation will hold a class activity this week. There will be a Storytime Art class at which students will create a masterpiece from a colorful tale, "The Little White Owl," that will be taught by Terri Linse today at Red Rock Center for the Arts, 222 E. Blue Earth Ave., in Fairmont. Grades K-2 will be from 11 a.m. to noon, and grades 3-7 will be from 1-2:30 p.m. They will provide snacks plus a 10-minute show-and-tell at the end of the class. There is a maximum of 12 students for the class. The fee will be $8. Pre-registration with payment is requested at Fairmont Community Education and Recreation located at Fairmont Elementary School. Exchange Club sets meeting today
Fairmont Exchange Club will meet noon today at Green Mill Restaurant, Fairmont. The program will feature Fairmont Police Chief Greg Brolsma, who will talk about the drug culture and police work in Fairmont. The public is always welcome to join club members for the programs. City Band to perform tonight
Fairmont City Band will perform its fifth and final summer concert at 8 p.m. tonight at Sylvania Park Band Shell in Fairmont. The band will perform marches, show tunes and standard band literature. Rehearsal will begin at 6 p.m. There will be a potluck for band members at 7:10 p.m. in the shelterhouse. Band members, please bring a salad or dessert to share; everything else will be provided. IHD committee will operate the concession stand, with proceeds going toward Interlaken Heritage Days activities. Early Risers Kiwanis to meet
Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. The program will feature speaker Mike Katzenmeyer, who will talk about the Fairmont Lakes Foundation. The public is invited to attend.
Class of 1944 plans meeting
Fairmont High School class of 1944 will meet 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Green Mill Restaurant, Fairmont. All classmates are welcome.
St. John Vianney golf outing slated July 21
The 11th annual St. John Vianney Golf Classic will be held July 21 at Interlaken Golf Course, Fairmont. Registration and lunch will be 10:30 a.m., with a shotgun start for golfing to begin at noon.
