Flea Market slated this weekend
The 132nd annual Antique Show and Flea Market will be held 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 4-6, at Vick's Corner, Jct. Hwy. 9 and 86, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Jami Riley and Robert Riley, both of Fairmont, were named to the dean's list for the 2014 spring semester at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Ashley Kruse of Lakefield graduated and was awarded a bachelor's degree in mathematics education during commencement ceremonies held June 14, 2014, at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
Chelsey Shumski of Fairmont was awarded the Heifers for State scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year at South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D. The scholarship, established in 2009, is awarded to deserving recipients who major in dairy production.
Conner Grupe of Trimont recently graduated and was awarded a bachelor's degree in corporate communication during commencement ceremonies held May 24, 2014, at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.
LaNay Walker of Delavan recently graduated and was awarded a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Minnesota, Morris in Morris, Minn.
The following area students graduated and were awarded degrees from Vermillion Community College in Ely, Minn.: Blue Earth - Chase Davis, associate's degree in wildland/wildlife law enforcement; Jacob Black, associate's degree in wildland/wildlife law enforcement; and a certification as a seasonal park law enforcement ranger.
