It’s working here

To the Editor:

A successful Transition Fair takes lots of partners working together. Faribault/Martin County is extremely fortunate to have those dedicated people who go the extra mile to support students with disabilities as they leave school and enter into adult life.

I am not aware of any schools in our southwest area that provide a program that even comes close to what our area offers students.

Thanks to our local teachers who coordinated the fair, Becky Johnson and Laura Becker; to those teachers who took the extra effort to provide this opportunity to the students in their district; and to Grace Lutheran Church for providing a site. Suzanne Sukalski and Jason Subbert keynoted a successful transition plan, with support from the Workforce Center and SMILES, while Southern Plains provided lunch and transportation.

Most importantly, sincere thanks to the agencies who meet monthly for CTIC meetings. It's working in our counties.
