Barslou pours in 32 points to top B.E. Area’s win

WELLS - Blue Earth Area teammates Dallas Barslou and Brandyn Olsen hardly missed a shot from the hardwood court in Wells on Tuesday night.

Barslou erupted for a game-best 32 points, while Olsen contributed 19 points to the Bucs' 78-72 nonconference basketball victory over the United South Central Rebels.

Barslou drilled 8 of 11 shots from 3-point territory en route to an 11-for-15 field-goal shooting performance overall to complement five assists.

Olsen buried all eight of his field goals and went 3-for-4 at the free throw line to go with distributing a game-leading seven assists.

Luke Monson delivered nine points and seven rebounds to Blue Earth Area's winning effort, Colin Squiers scored 10 points, while Steven Plocker pulled down six boards.

The Bucs scorched the nets on 19 of 26 shots from 2-point range for 73 percent, made 10 of 16 attempts from 3-point distance for 63 percent and hit 10 of 16 free throws.

Cole Stencel scored 19 points to top the Rebels' balanced offensive attack, Walker Linde netted 15 points, Nate Pederson tallied 13 and Steven Voigt generated 11 points.

USC made 22 of 32 shots from 2-point range, 6 of 13 behind the bonus arc and 10 of 21 at the charity stripe.

Blue Earth Area (6-6, 1-4 South Central) travels to Waseca on Friday night.

Maple River 76, Granada-Huntley-East Chain 56 - The Class 2A, No. 9-ranked Eagles rolled to a 20-point Valley Conference victory over the Mustangs on Tuesday night in Mapleton.

Logan Pytleski scored 15 points to top GHEC's effort, Trent Stensland and Dylan Petrowiak each netted 13 points, while Jared Green pulled down six rebounds.

The Mustangs made 17 of 36 shots from 2-point range, 5 of 13 from behind the 3-point line and 7 of 11 from the free throw line.

Granada-Huntley-East Chain (4-10, 3-5 Valley) plays host to Truman/Martin Luther on Thursday night at East Chain School.

North Union 51, Clay Central-Everly 40 - Colton McConnell scored 17 points, while teammate Shane Mills netted a double-double performance to pace the Warriors' 11-point Corn Belt Conference win over the Mavericks on Tuesday night in Armstrong.

Mills produced 14 points and 12 rebounds to complement five steals, while McConnell added three steals.

Alex Krantz pulled down seven rebounds for North Union, Aric Runge added six boards, while Jacob Braddock scored five points.

The Warriors made 12 of 30 shots from 2-point distance, 5 of 13 behind the 3-point line and 12 of 24 at the free throw stripe.

North Union (3-14, 3-6 Corn Belt) travels to Harris-Lake Park on Friday night.
