WELCOME - The Martin County Area Magic gymnasts bettered their season-high team point total for the second time in the last three days.

Junior Rebecca Steen cleared the 36-point barrier for the second consecutive meet to capture the all-around crown again in powering the Magic's 134.475-119.675 South Central Conference dual-meet triumph over the St. Peter Saints on Thursday night in Welcome.

Martin County Area eclipsed its previous season-high scoring clip of 134.275 established only two days ago en route to a dual-meet victory over Worthington.

For the second dual meet in a row, Steen swept all four individual events to win the all-around competition with a total of 36.3 points.

Steen planted a Tsukahara vault for a winning mark of 9.35, spun a pair of giants to highlight a first-place mark of 8.325 on the uneven parallel bars, stuck her balance beam routine for a winning total of 9.275, while literally flooring all rivals with a top score of 9.35 on the floor exercise.

For the second straight meet, the Magic's Martha Olson placed second on the vault, scoring an 8.9 during Thursday's competition. Olson also tied teammate Kersten Shantz for fourth place on the floor with 8.275s.

The Magic's Mackenzie Betts shared third place on the vault with St. Peter's Megan Overgaard at 8.75, while MCA's Sydney Leichtnam did likewise with the Saints' Teagan Weiss and Halla Dontje-Lindell for fourth place with 8.4s.

Andrea Thate, Betts and Maggie Bachenberg each contributed second-place showings to the Magic's winning ways. Thate claimed second on the unevens (7.575), Betts netted runner-up accolades on the beam (8.375), while Bachenberg took second on the floor with an 8.5.

Lexy Ringnell and Michaela Twitchell shared third place with a pair of 7.25s on the beam for MCA, while Sydney Leichtnam pocketed fourth at 7.2.

Leichtnam and Bach-enberg also rounded out the top four finishers on the beam, generating totals of 8.25 and 8.2, respectively, to net third and fourth place.

Ringnell chalked up an 8.45 to take third on the floor for the Magic, with Olson and Shantz sharing fourth at 8.275.

Weiss placed second in the all-around competition for St. Peter by generating a 30.125, while teammate Overgaard placed third at 30.05.
