I did get a higher education, I went to school for web and graphic design because at the time it was a hot field to get into, I am working minimum wage because I was not able and am currently not able to find a competitive wage in my area for the education I paid for. I am not blaming others, I am simply stating that someone who has never experienced poverty shouldn't be making up laws that they have never had to deal with. my college education was far from free, and it means exactly squat. So please harp on me for being honest, not everyone can find employment in the fields they were educated in, some of us have no choice but to work at dead end jobs. And in case someone asks why I haven't continued with my education, well I cant I no longer have aid available (currently) and nor can I afford the certifications to get my programming courses done. I didn't come here to fight I just came here to make a point.

Uncle Ben - I have a college education and earn far above the minimum wage but have and still do work with people who work for the minimum wage or slightly more. What a sad thing to say that these folks should just get a better job now the state has given them a free education. Sadly not everyone has the ability to get a better job. All I can is what arrogance.

IronLone - I agree the minimum wage should be raised. However, why are you working for minimum wage? You were offered free education thru grade 12. What are you doing now to better educate yourself to become worth receiving a higher wage? Look in the mirror and quit blaming others for your low income situation.

$7.25 an hour is hardly a amount to live off of, I have to work 2 jobs just to afford my place and a vehicle plus insurance, plus food, gas, etc etc etc. the cost of living is going up and here we are still getting paid pennies for the dollars we make our "respected" companies. how about instead of worrying about a sales tax or a new industry park for blue earth you take that money and give it to the people who are actually struggling to support their families. oh I forgot, Gunther came from money so he has never had to live poverty level before.
