To the Editor:

Kinship, a nonprofit mentoring program for youth ages 5-15, would like to thank the community for supporting its 8th annual “Gala Gowns Go Green” sale. The sale was a huge success with more than 80 dresses/accessories finding new homes. The sale raised over $2,500.

A big thank you to Five Lakes Centre for hosting the event and Thrivent Financial for its Action Team funds. Thanks to Nancy and Lisa for their creative decorating and everyone that helped pull off the fundraising event. Many thanks to our drop sites, our door prize sponsors, our ad sponsors, everyone that consigned or donated dresses, and everyone that shopped.

Our sale is three-fold: to raise money to keep our mentoring program going, to recycle gently used women’s formal wear at fantastic prices, and to clean out closets.

Watch for Kinship’s Industrial/Commercial rummage sale coming up the last week in April.
