To the Editor:

On behalf of the Fairmont Area Runners and Fairmont Community Education and Recreation, I would like to express our thanks to the volunteers and sponsors of the 37th annual Fairmont Summer Run.

On July 25, runners and their families participated in 5-mile, 2-mile, half-mile and quarter-mile races utilizing the Bob Bonk Track and Fairmont trails along Albion Avenue

This family event attracts all ages to our community to enjoy the beauty of our trails and to promote joy, as well as healthy lifestyle, of running and walking. Special thanks to the sponsors of the race including: Mayo Clinic Health System of Fairmont; Fairmont Chiropractic & Acupuncture Health Care; Burtis Chiropractic Center; Fairmont Family Dentistry; Carlson Dental Office; and Center for Specialty Care.

Runners and families were especially appreciative of the donations of refreshments graciously provided by Culligan Water, Hy-Vee and Fareway. I would also like to express thanks and gratitude to the 40-plus community volunteers, including Fairmont Area Runners, area school coaches and youth who made the run happen so successfully.

What an amazing community of support to make events such as this happen. Thank you to all who care and work so passionately to make our community such a great place to live and grow.
