Reily Dale Junkermeier brightened the world when he was born Nov. 26, 1991, in Tyler, Minn., to parents, Denny and Shelley (Howard) Junkermeier. A determined young boy who was the oldest of four children, Reily started elementary school in Tyler, Minn. In the fifth grade, the family moved to Fairmont, Minn., where he attended Fairmont public school. Reily made friends easily and through his high school years, enjoyed spending time with his friends that he met through basketball, golf and from around the neighborhood. Reily graduated from Fairmont High School with the class of 2010.
Following his graduation, Reily enrolled at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minn. Unsure of his plans, he took a short break from college before enrolling at South Central College where he earned his Ag Business degree.
In 2017, Reily moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., where he had most recently worked in sales for RDO.
Being the oldest of his siblings, Reily took on the role of caretaker. At a minute’s notice, he would drop whatever he was doing to be there for those he cared about the most. Reily was reliable, determined, and always helpful. Growing up with parents who loved classic rock, Reily also found a love for the great hair bands of the 80’s. His knowledge of bands and musicians as well as trivia in general was beyond belief. Reily’s passion for the oldies didn’t include just music, he looked forward to movie nights spent with family and friends, watching the classics with a bowl full of popcorn. He was an avid reader, accomplished golfer, and jumped at the opportunity to attend a concert with his siblings and parents. Reily always looked forward to his time with cousins, especially the annual up North trip sitting around the campfire laughing, sharing stories and playing campfire games with his cousins.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Denny and Shelley Junkermeier; siblings, Brady Junkermeier (Paige Powers), Kelsy Junkermeier, and Jordyn Junkermeier; grandparents, Dale and Karin Junkermeier and Marlys and Ken Breen; aunts and uncles, Sheri Howard, Steve (Renee) Howard, Stacy (Bekki) Howard, Kelly (Mike) Mireault, Kim (Mitch) Larson, and Kelly (Tony) Schueller; many cousins, extended family and friends.
Reily was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Howard. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
