Dennis died peacefully in his beautiful, cherished home in Oberursel while looking out over the magnificent view of the Taunus Mountains with his devoted wife Gayle Marie and his sister and brother in-law Dr. Maureen and Dr. John Ahmann by his side.

Dennis was born July 14, 1964, in Fairmont, Minn., the son of Edwin and Delores (Allison) Schultze. He began his educational journey at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church School in Wilbert where he attended first through eighth grade. He graduated from Ceylon High School in 1982. Upon graduation from high school, he attended the University of Minnesota earning a degree in economics with a minor in German. During his time at the University of Minnesota, he spent a semester studying abroad in Freiburg, Germany. In 1994, Dennis graduated from The Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina earning his MBA in International Business. Upon graduation, he worked in marketing for Policy Management Systems Corporation in Columbia, South Carolina. It was this job that helped Dennis fulfill his long-term goal of living and working in Germany. While working for PMSC in South Carolina, the company sent him to Germany for a short-term marketing project. This marketing project led to 25 years of living and working in Germany. Dennis married Gayle Marie Angbrandt on July 11, 2003, in Port Huron, Mich. Dennis and Gayle have lived in Germany for the past 25 years where he worked as a software analyst at Compeople AG in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main Metropolitan Area since the year 2000. Dennis and Gayle enjoy hosting their family and friends from around the world in their home in Germany. Dennis truly loved living in Germany. He embraced the language and culture of this beautiful country for the entire 25 years he lived there. Dennis also loved to travel and over the years travelled to many countries in Europe and the Middle East. Dennis had a special place in his heart for children and especially enjoyed spending time playing with his many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and the children of friends. Dennis was a devoted Eintracht soccer fan, the local professional soccer team in Frankfurt, Germany, holding season tickets and rarely missing a home game for the past 25 years. Dennis was often a common sight at Gayle’s school, where he always took her to work and picked her up each day and carried her bags like a smitten high schooler.  Dennis also really enjoyed volunteering and helping others in need. He volunteered at many community events as well as volunteering during the refugee crisis in Germany. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 18 years, Gayle Marie Angbrandt of Oberursel, Germany; sisters, Kris (John) Peterson of Jackson, Minn., Karen Erickson of Walnut Grove, Minn.; brothers, Terry (Myranda) Schultze of Palm Beach, Fla., and Roger Schultze of Ceylon, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Kaye Schultze of Ceylon, Minn., Carrie (David) Hamberg of Wilder, Ky., Deborah (Michael) Duffy of Alexandria, Ky., Maureen (John) Ahmann of Richfield, Ohio, and Heather (Steve) Cole-Lively of Akron, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many friends around the world. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Delores Schultze; his beloved brother, Kevin Schultze; brother-in-law, Ed Erickson; as well as other family members. Dennis lived a life that was uncommon in its fullness and no doubt many people are better for having known him and witnessed the life he lived. Dennis will be remembered in the hearts of all for his positive attitude, selflessness, kindness, generosity, and patience. He radiated joy, peace, and love towards everyone. His amazing smile will be missed by many people around the world. Let us remember the lessons his life has taught us and go forth to be changed by his example.
