TRIMONT — A private graveside service for Dennis D. Krueger, 78, of Trimont, Minn. will be held at a later time at Waverly Lutheran Cemetery, rural Trimont.

Dennis was called to his eternal rest Saturday afternoon, Nov. 28, 2020, at his home in Trimont, Minn. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family online at www.kramerfuneralhome.com.

Dennis Dean Krueger was born May 19, 1942, to Carl and Ardis (Hughes) Krueger at the old Fairmont Community Hospital in Fairmont, Minn. He attended rural District 88 and later attended Trimont School, graduating with the class of 1960. On Aug. 16, 1962, he entered the U.S. Army, serving until his honorable discharge on Aug. 14, 1964. Dennis was employed in Minneapolis until moving back to work on the family farm. On June 16, 1979, he was united in marriage to Susan Johnson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Trimont, Minn. He farmed until retiring in 1998. In 2017, they moved into Trimont. Dennis greatly enjoyed Sunday morning “Bible Study” at Casey’s in Truman with Bob, Kevin, Jim, Brad, Harold B.R. Wenth, and Karen. He also enjoyed church mowing with the crew. Dennis was a member of Waverly Lutheran Church and he enjoyed working with wood, hunting and doing leatherwork. He was a 51-year member of Foster-Bernhardt American Legion Post 373 where he served on the honor guard. He is survived by his wife, Susan Krueger of Trimont; two daughters, Ginger (Peter) Barnett of Lakeville, Minn., and Kelsey Krueger of West Allis, Wis.; granddaughter, Charlotte Barnett; sister-in-law, Louise (Mark) Anderson of Kasson, Minn.; brothers-in-law, Ron Johnson of Bristol, Conn., Tedd (Jackie) Johnson of LaCrosse, Wis.; other relatives and friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ardis; stepfather, Melvin Hayek; and other relatives. In lieu of flowers or anything else, just have a drink in his memory.
