William ‘Bill’ F. Rosa

WELCOME — A private family service for William “Bill” F. Rosa, 90, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Welcome, Minn., will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, at Kramer Family Funeral Home, 704 First St. in Welcome. Military honors by Welcome American Legion Post 553 and Nassen-Detert American Legion Post 539 of Ceylon will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont, Minn. Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life service for Bill will take place at a later date.

Bill was called to his eternal rest Saturday afternoon, Nov. 7, 2020, at Ava’s House in Sioux Falls, S.D. Messages of sympathy can be sent to the family online at www.kramerfuneralhome.com.

William Franklin Rosa was born May 1, 1930, in Jackson, Minn., to Fred and Ruth (Anderson) Rosa. He received his education in Jackson. Bill served in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge. On Nov. 4, 1950, he was united in marriage to Delores McClintock in Fairmont, Minn. After their marriage they resided in Welcome where Bill was employed at REA. Later, Bill was employed for the Centel telephone company as local manager and then became Frontier telephone until his retirement. After retiring, Bill was at Gillette cable splicing business based out of Slayton. Bill then was employed at Green view Rest Stop near Jackson. Delores died on Feb. 8, 1987. He continued living in Welcome until moving to Sioux Falls. Bill moved to the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne Minn. until the time of his death. He was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. He was an active member of Welcome American Legion Post 553 and was also an active member of Sherburn Chamber of Commerce. While living in Sioux Falls, he attended Celebrate Church where he served in helping in different areas of the church needs. Bill enjoyed gardening, camping, traveling, hunting, fishing boating, snowmobiling and most of all spending time with his family. He is survived by his four children: daughters, Julie Kademan of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Cindy (John) Brannum of Sioux Falls, S.D., Sherri (Gary) Ettesvold of Granada, Minn.; son, Craig Rosa and Jodi of Windom, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Schwarzenbach of Spencer, Iowa, Alice Packer and Hattie Duflo both of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters-in-law, Ann Rosa of Spencer, Iowa, and Barb Rosa of Canby, Minn.; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruth Rosa; wife, Delores; grandson, Corey Eiden; four brothers; and other relatives.
