Kenneth Martin Ritz was born on May 18, 1942 to Martin and Fredia (Tieje) Ritz. He was raised on the family farm in rural Truman where his family had livestock and grains. He graduated with the Truman High School class of 1961. On April 6, 1974, he married Carol Kinnander. To this union 4 children were born. He was a farmer through and through- all on the same family farm. Ken enjoyed woodworking, making furniture and other items; also, leatherworking and tinkering with electronics. He was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman where, over the years, he held several offices, such as Trustee and Elder. Kenneth’s legacy is that of love, shown to others through his faith in God and being a humble man and keeping his life family-centered. He really enjoyed his family and their many activities; watching TV with the grandchildren, Three Stooges, Tom and Jerry and the Red Green Show are just a few. Ken’s old sense of humor will definitely be missed.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Carol of Truman; children, Sophie Montgomery of St. Louis MO, Edward (Meggie) Ritz of Truman; Ruth Ritz (Nate Barnes) of Fairmont and Andrew Ritz of Truman; grandchildren, Amelia Ritz, Zach Ritz, Lizzy Ritz, Gary Montgomery Jr., Alexis Montgomery, Ivy Barnes and Rose Barnes; sister, Deanna Hoenstien; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including his best friend Curtis Jones.
