Leonard Eugene Jorgenson was born Feb. 13, 1926, in Comstock, Wis., the youngest son of Theodore Jorgenson and Grace (Scribner) Jorgenson. Lenny attended Cumberland Public Schools until 1940. Eventually, his family moved to Fairmont. Lenny served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the destroyer, USS Ingersoll, in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 12, 1947. When he returned home, he was united in marriage to Marion Armstrong. This union was blessed with five children: Rene Jorgenson, Jerry Jorgenson, Nancy (Chet) Starkey, Jean (Duane) Murray, and Donald (Denise) Jorgenson. Lenny worked for Mallon Egg in Fairmont, Farmer’s Creamery, a truck driver, and for the Fairmont Fire Department. He was active in the American Legion and the VFW. On May 28, 1965, Lenny was united in marriage to Joyce (Riegel) Swanson. Lenny and Joyce made their home in the Rochester area. They enjoyed playing cards, dancing, and traveling with their camping group. Lenny loved deer hunting every year and he loved to fish–he didn’t like to eat fish, but he really liked to catch them. They enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Lenny worked for Kahler Hospitality and Rochester City Delivery until his retirement. Lenny and Joyce spent 45 years together before Joyce passed away in March of 2011. In 2016, Lenny moved into Temperance Lake Ridge in Sherburn.
