GLENWOOD — Visitation for Eugene R. Diekmann, 75, of Glenwood, formerly of Fairmont, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont, with full military honors by the Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 and Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222. Because of COVID-19 concerns, social distancing guidelines will be observed, masks are encouraged and the number of guests will be monitored.

Diekmann died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020, at his home in Glenwood.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Eugene Ronald Diekmann was born June 4, 1945, in Fairmont to Fred and Marie (Schnieder) Diekmann. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include: his children, Steven Diekmann, Theodore “Ted” Diekmann, Velvet Frick, and Michael Diekmann; eight grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Emery; and brother, Donnie Diekmann.
