FAIRMONT — A public graveside service for Duane M. Stusse, 74, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, Fairmont.

Duane Marland Stusse was born Sept. 16, 1945, in Fairmont, Minn., to Marland and Frieda (Klindt) Stusse. Duane graduated from Trimont High School in 1963 where he was involved in the FFA. After graduation he attended Austin Vo-Tech for carpentry. He also joined the National Guard.

He started a business called Stusse Construction, where he built houses in Fairmont, Welcome and Sherburn. After his brother Ronald’s tragic death in 1976, he helped his dad farm and still continued to build houses. After his dad’s death, he had to take over all of the farming and also taking care of his mother. He continued construction and farming until his mother’s death, when he then rented out the farm land. He remodeled and help build houses until 2018, when he had to retire due to health. Duane moved to Ingleside Memory Care in Fairmont.

Duane was a member of United Methodist Church in Trimont, Minn.

Duane’s family would like to thank the staff for taking care of him.

Duane is survived by many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, Marland and Frieda; brother, Ronald Stusse; and other relatives.
