BLUE EARTH — Susan Carr, age 59, of Blue Earth, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 8, 2020, at United Hospital in Blue Earth, with her family at her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2020, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, with Father Bryan Mulligan officiating.

Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. that day. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery. Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth is entrusted with arrangements. www.pattonfh.com

Susan was born April 29, 1960, in Blue Earth, the daughter of Tom and Mimi (Murphy) Carr. She grew up on a farm in Pilot Grove Township. Susan was a member of the original class at the Faribault County Day Activity Center in Blue Earth. She was also one of the first students with special needs to attend Blue Earth Public Schools.

Susan was then employed at MRCI in Fairmont for 35 years. Susan retired in 2018 and currently attended St. Luke’s Adult Day Program.

Susan had many interests. She enjoyed bowling, puzzles, walking, pictures, cats, dogs and Diet Coke. People who knew her well knew that purple was always her favorite color. Susan loved to listen to the radio and was KBEW’s biggest fan. Her favorite song was “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”

Mass at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church was very important to her.

Susan was easy to love and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Susan’s family would like to thank Elm Homes for the tremendous care given to Susan while she lived in their care.

Susan is survived by her mother, Mimi Carr of Blue Earth; her siblings, Helen (Warren) Wells of Bloomington, Joan (Fred) Hansen of Shakopee, and Bill (Suz) Carr of Elmore; nieces and nephews, Ann Marie (Andrew) Chapirson, Katie Wells (fiancé Austin), Jacob Wells, Sarah Hansen, Becca Hansen, Nathan (Mandy) Carr and Nicole Carr (fiancé Jake).

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Tom Carr; sister, Ayleen Carr; and her grandparents.

In lieu of flowers/gifts, the family is asking for donations to charities that support the disabled such as Special Olympics, Elm Homes, MRCI or St. Luke’s Adult Day Services.
