FAIRMONT — A memorial visitation for Gloria N. Nelson, 60, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Gloria passed away Sunday afternoon, March 1, 2020, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, Iowa.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gloria Nova (Odegaard) Nelson was born April 20, 1959, in Estherville, Iowa, the daughter of Norman and Deloris (Prust) Odegaard. She attended school in Ceylon and graduated from Ceylon High School with the class of 1977.

Gloria was a hard worker and enjoyed working with numbers. She was a great bookkeeper taking care of the books for many years for her brother Gale, in addition to also working for Nasby for over 10 years.

In her younger years, Gloria enjoyed warm summer days spent out on the open road on her Volkswagen trike motorcycle.

Later in life, Gloria found a passion for antiques and looked forward to finding the next great treasure at area rummage sales. She cherished spending time with family and friends and looked forward to bingo night and the chance to call out “BINGO.”

Family was extremely important to Gloria and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Brandie (Billy) Boyd, Brandon Loeschen, and Joe Nelson (Macy Vonruden); many grandchildren; siblings, Ben (Sally) Odegaard, Gale (Rhoda) Odegaard, Shirley (Randy) Cunningham, John Paul (Janie) Odegaard; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Deloris Odegaard; sister, Helen Brenden; brother, Steve Odegaard; nephews, William Odegaard, and Ryan Cunningham; as well as many other family.
