SHERBURN — As per Lee’s request there will be no services. A public visitation to celebrate the life of Lee A. Meyer, 78, of Sherburn, Minn., will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020, at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn. Private family burial will be held at a later date in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Wilbert, Minn.

Lee was granted peace by God’s grace early Saturday morning, Jan. 25, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, Minn., at the age of 78 years.

Lee Alyn Meyer was born Oct. 29, 1941, in Fairmont, Minn., to Hank and Millie (Laue) Meyer. He attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Wilbert, Minn., through the eighth grade and graduated from Fairmont High School. Lee farmed with his dad on the family farm in Rolling Green Township.

On Jan. 9, 1965, he was united in marriage to Arlys Meyer in Buffalo Center, Iowa. After their marriage, they continued to farm until 1976, when they moved to Sherburn.

Lee was employed by Ag-Chem in Jackson, Minn., for 22 years, and later Nuvex Ingredients in Blue Earth, Minn. Lee also owned and operated the Snack Stop in Sherburn with his family, and created many wood crafts as the village woodcutter.

Lee enjoyed his wood working, playing cards, watching and reading Westerns, listening to “old time” music and The Gaither Vocal Band. Lee also spent many summers fishing and camping with his family.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn.

He is survived by his son, Brent (Sara) Meyer of Fort Dodge, Iowa; daughter, Lori Stibbe of Welcome, Minn.; three grandchildren, Landon and Maeleena Meyer, and Caleb Stibbe; brother, Robert “Bob” (Karen) Meyer of Rochester, Minn.; nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arlys; an infant sister; nephew, Phillip Meyer; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bert and Hannah Meyer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Shirley Meyer; other relatives and friends.
