FAIRMONT — Funeral service for Deloris “Dee” M. Hillmer, 90, of Fairmont, MN, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont.

Deloris passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday morning, Jan. 17, 2020, at her home in Fairmont. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today, Jan. 20, 2020, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, and will continue one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Deloris Maxine (Kliendl) Hillmer was born Aug. 7, 1929, to John and Sophie (Olson) Kliendl in Blue Earth, MN. She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1947.

Deloris was united in marriage on Oct. 10, 1953, to Victor Hillmer in Blue Earth. After their marriage, they made their home in Fairmont. Deloris and Victor were blessed with three children, Mark, Scott and Cindy.

Deloris worked as the secretary at Lincoln Elementary School in Fairmont for 26 years.

Deloris was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont where she served on various women’s groups. She was diagnosed with mouth cancer in 2003 and before that she enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with her friends. In recent years, her family was her joy, especially watching her great-grandchildren grow. She will also be remembered for her love for shopping, gardening, baking and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

She is survived by her children, Mark (Paget) Hillmer, Scott (Joyce) Hillmer and Cindy (Kent) Jensen; grandchildren, Kirk (Sarah) Jensen, Katie (Ben) Hardt, Andrew (Chelsey) Jensen, Stacy (Colin) Schulze and Amber (Zach) Jurries; great-grandchildren, Keegan Jurries, Roman Jensen, Rhuana Jensen, Hunter Hardt, Kinnick Hardt, Carver Hardt, Kamden Jensen and Brayden Jensen; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sophie Kliendl; husband, Victor Hillmer; brothers, Harold (Helen) Kliendl and Darwin Kliendl; and sisters, Dorothy (Lester) Arends, Helen (Chester) Nelson, Elaine (Wes) Classon and Rosey (Al) Murtha.
