WACONIA — Martha W. Meyer, age 89, of Waconia, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1200 N. North Ave., in Fairmont, Minn. Internment will be at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, Fairmont.

Martha was born Jan. 13, 1931, in Triumph, Minn., to Louis and Ella (Franck) Poppe. She was baptized into God’s family on Jan. 24, 1931, at Monterey Evangelical Lutheran Church. She confirmed her faith on June 17, 1945, at Trinity Lutheran in Monterey, Minn. She was a 1949 graduate of Trimont High School in Triumph.

Martha was united in marriage to Delmar Meyer on Nov. 8, 1953, at Immanuel Lutheran in Fairmont. Martha and Delmar had three children, Brian (who died at birth), Val and Julie.

Martha enjoyed embroidery, collecting cardinals and Christmas trees, flea marketing and going to craft sales with her husband. She also enjoyed putting puzzles together and playing 6-5-4 dice game with her friends. But most of all, she love spending time with her family. Her pride and joy where her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Ella (Franck) Poppe; husband, Delmar Meyer; son, Brian Meyer; grandson, Jeremiah Graudin; brothers, August and Marvin Poppe, Alfred Poppe (in infancy); sisters, Evelyn Wink, Geneva Swenson; nieces, Twyla Hague, Mary Poppe; and numerous other family members.

She is survived by her loving family: daughters, Valerie (Peter) Graudin of Norwood Young America, Julie (Mark) Dierks of Norwood Young America; grandchildren, Zachary (Amber) Graudin of Waconia, Ashley (Jack) Miller of Cologne, Joshua (Bryan) Dierks of Roseville, Aaron (Anna) Dierks of St. Michael, Reverend Andrew (Louise) Dierks of Arenzville, Ill; great-grandchildren, Zoe Graudin, Caitlyn and Isaac Dierks, Ione and Abigail Dierks, and Gray Dierks; sisters-in-law, Pat (Russ) Davis, Ardyce Meyer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
