BRAINERD — Lavonne Kahler, 92, of Brainerd, Minn., died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Center Creek Cemetery, rural Granada, Minn.

Lavonne Warriner was born Nov. 5, 1926, at home in Silver Lake Township, near Fairmont, Martin County, Minn., the daughter of Howard and Clara (Brown) Warriner. She spent her early years there, until moving with her family to Granada in 1934. She graduated from Granada High School in 1944. She then attended Minneapolis Business College for clerical and bookkeeping.

She lived and worked in Fairmont at Fairmont Public Utilities until returning to Granada. She worked in the accounting department at Martin County Social Services for 32 years before retiring. She lived in Fairmont until 2007, when she moved to Baxter, Minn.

Lavonne enjoyed traveling the world, golfing and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Kahler of Brainerd, Minn., Debra (Tom) Sampson of Baxter, Minn.; two grandchildren, Jamie Sampson of St. Louis Park, Minn., Phillip (Jessica) Sampson of Brainerd; great-grandson, Reef Sampson; and brother, Lawrence Warriner of Granada, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Clara Warriner; siblings, Mildred Bloome, Marie Wood, Ralph Warriner, and Eldon (Jerry) Warriner.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, Minn.
