FAIRMONT — Mass of Christian Burial for Doris Jeanette (Charnecki) Anderson, age 98, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care System Chapel in Fairmont, with interment in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in East Chain, Minn. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center Chapel.

Doris passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, Aug. 6, 2019, at Woodland Manor in Fairmont.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Doris was born May 21, 1921, in North Attleboro, Mass., to Wilfred C. and Lucille (Eno) Plante. She graduated from Central High School in Providence, R.I., in 1938.

During World War II, Doris met Anton A. (Tony) Charnecki of Silver Lake Township whose ship was stationed in Rhode Island. They married Dec. 3, 1945, in Providence, R.I., and soon moved to nearby Massachusetts. They had four boys and moved to Fairmont, Minn., in 1960.

Soon after Tony passed in 1968, Doris earned a Practical Nursing degree in Mankato, Minn. She moved back to Providence and was employed as an LPN by Saint Joseph Hospital.

On June 1, 1985, Doris married Frank Anderson of Fairmont, where they made their home. Frank passed away in 2006.

Doris was a member of St. John Vianney Church and a member of Saint Catherine Circle. She enjoyed gardening and many craft interests, including needlepoint, painting, and crocheting. Of course, she was always ready for bingo.

She is survived by four sons, Tom (Elizabeth) Charnecki of Rehoboth, Mass., Ray (Micky) Charnecki of Cedar Park, Texas, Dave (Patti) Charnecki of Nobleton, Fla., and Bob (Janet) Charnecki of Fairmont.; eight grandchildren, Dr. Sara (Doug Mercer) Charnecki of Rehoboth, Mass., Tim (Aileen) Charnecki of Dublin, Ireland, Tina (Kyle) Mace of Missoula, Mont., Michael Charnecki of Cedar Park, Texas, Christopher Charnecki of Cedar Park, Texas, Dayle (Greg) Christiansen of Red Wing, Minn., Zac (Nikki) Charnecki of Oakdale, Minn., and Darcie (John) Petersen of Albert Lea, Minn.; and 18 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother, Maurice (Arlene) Plante of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; sister Rita Denomme of Elyria, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Juliette Plante, of Raynham, Mass., and Betty Pannkuk of Fairmont, Minn.; and many nephews and nieces.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anton A. Charnecki; husband, Frank R. Anderson; four sisters, Bella (Earl) Young, Sister Lauretta Plante, S.M.S.M., Beatrice (Olier) Bergeron and Theresa (Albert) Albertini; and five brothers, William (Noella) Plante, Ernest (Rose) Plante, Albert (Rita) Plante, Lionel (Eleanor) Plante and Delphis (Juliette) Plante.
