ODIN — A funeral service for Richard N. Olson, 91, of Silver Bay, formerly of Odin, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, rural Trimont, with military honors by the Foster-Bernhardt American Legion Post 373 of Trimont.

Olson died Wednesday afternoon, July 17, 2019, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Silver Bay. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church in Trimont.

Kramer family Funeral Home in Trimont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Richard Nels Olson was born July 3, 1928, in Little Falls to Fred and Esther (Johnson) Olson. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, was stationed in Japan from 1950-1952 and was honorably discharged.

Survivors include: his wife, Charlotte Olson of Silver Bay; two sons, Steven Olson of Ann Arbor, Mich., Terry Olson of Finland, Minn.; daughter, Beth Olson of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren; brother, Edward Olson of Shawnee Mission, Kan.; sisters, Viola Paul of Conroe, Texas, and Beverly Ellefson of Plymouth.
