OJAI, Calif. — Gene Bullard, age 90, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at his home in Ojai, Calif.

Gene was born Nov. 12, 1928, the son of Percy and Pearl Bullard of Granada.

He spent his early career as a singer/emcee in U.S. nightclubs and touring worldwide with the USO. He later worked as a show producer for Fortune 500 companies and manufactured audio-animatronic figures for Universal Studios and other amusement parks worldwide.

He loved sharing stories about his early life in Granada, where he trapped game, sang with his brothers and competed in Golden Gloves.

Bullard was predeceased by his brothers, Lyle, Clayton and Richard; half siblings, Bernard Bullard and Velma Duval; and son, William Weber.

He was previously married to Wilma Oswald and Bunita Braetan.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dianne Ulyon Bullard; and his son, Chris Bullard.
