Bonnie Larsen

FAIRMONT — Funeral services for Bonnie Larsen, age 74, of East Chain, Minn., will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. tonight, May 31, 2019, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Bonnie passed away Tuesday evening, May 28, 2019, at her home. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bonnie Jeane Larsen was born Dec. 6, 1944, in Winnebago, Minn., to Clayton and Ferne (Weaver) Lewis. She graduated from Granada High School with the class of 1962. On May 23, 1964, Bonnie was united in marriage to Earl Dean Larsen at the East Chain Lutheran Church. This marriage was blessed with three children, Terry, Dawn and Timothy. After their marriage, they made their home in the East Chain area. Bonnie was a farmwife and homemaker and worked at the East Chain School in the kitchen. She also ran “Grandma Bonnie’s Daycare” where she took care of her own grandchildren, along with other children through the years. She loved to entertain the kids with her baby goats. Bonnie enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, dancing and bird watching. She loved fishing and always looked forward to their annual fishing trips with her brothers and family. Bonnie was famous for her chocolate chip cookies. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, was very important to her. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Earl Dean Larsen of East Chain; three children, Terry (Roxanne) Larsen of North Mankato, Dawn (Terry) Stensland of Blue Earth, Tim (Heather) Larsen of Cloquet; 12 grandchildren, Samantha, Jennifer, Faith and Brian Larsen, Adam Meester (fiancée, Breanna Johnson), Brandon Meester, Hayley Stensland, Jessica Stensland, Erin, Macy, Quinten and Caden Larsen; one brother, Robert Lewis (fiancée, Renee Kinney) of Granada and his two daughters, Christina and Carrie Lewis; and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Ferne Lewis; father and mother-in-law, Earl and Lydia Larsen; and brother, Cecil Lewis.
