WEBSTER CITY, Iowa — Cameron Lynn McCollough passed away Friday, May 10, 2019, from a heart condition at the age of 68 years.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center in Webster City. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wed-nesday, May 29, at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Jim Fleming officiating. Internment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City.

Cameron Lynn McCollough was born Oct. 26, 1950, in Webster City, Iowa, the son of Jay and Margie (Tapper) McCollough. He was raised in the Blairsburg and Eagle Grove areas, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1968. Cam earned a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University in 1972 in Ag Business with a minor in farm management.

He managed the family farm after graduation and was united in marriage to Jolayn Diane Frey on Dec. 2, 1972.

He then served a commitment to the U.S. Army with two years enlisted, and then, with an opportunity to attend Officer Candidate School, as a finance officer.

Cam returned to the family farm in 1976, but was forced to quit by a cancer diagnosis in 1985. He went into the carnival business for several years, then did computer work for Farm Business Systems in Aledo, Ill.; WB Contract Swine in Armstrong, Iowa; Easy Systems in Trimont & Welcome, Minn.; Feed Management Systems in Fairmont, Minn., and Easy Automation in Welcome, before retiring in 2013.

Cameron and JoDi raised three children, Todd, Laura and Tim. After their divorce, Cameron remarried to Dr. Susan Filips of Hartington, Neb. They lived most of their marriage in Armstrong, Iowa.

Cameron served his communities well. He served on the Farm Bureau Board, was a member of the junior board of Farmer’s Coop in Eagle Grove, was an EMTD with the Eagle Grove EMS, was on the Wright County Pork Producers Board serving as president in 1981, and was a member of Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fairmont.

He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, travel and attending as many of his grandchildren’s events that he could.

Survivors include his wife, Susan; children, Todd (Laura) McCollough, Laura Lynn (Andy) Boettger, Tim (Christy) McCollough; stepchildren, Mark (Jen) Filips, Jacqueline (Garrett) Holgate; 23 grandchildren; brothers, Brian (Nancy) McCollough, Alan (Kim) McCollough; sister, Camille (Dan) Rogers; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
