Blanche Schaefer

LEWISVILLE — Blanche Irene (Larsen) Schaefer age 92, of Lewisville, MN, died on May 15, 2019.

Service will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church-Lewisville, on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11:00 am, visitation from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the church.

The clergy will be Pastor John Bennett. Interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Lewisville.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home, Pilgrim Chapel in Madelia, Minnesota. On line condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Blanche Irene (Larsen) Schaefer was born on May 18, 1926 to Willie C. and Carrie Emma “Blanche” (Samuelson) Larsen in Mankato Township on the family farm. Blanche attended country school through 8th grade and then Lake Crystal High School where she graduated. She went on to Johnson Beauty Academy in Mankato, received her beautician license and worked as a beautician in Truman, MN. Blanche was united in marriage to Edwin Walter Schaefer on September 18, 1949 at her parents’ farm in rural Lake Crystal, MN. Blanche loved being a farmer’s wife. She loved family gatherings and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were so thankful for all those special moments. Blanche also enjoyed gardening and sharing her produce with others. She cooked, canned and used her sewing skills and everyone was so appreciative. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville, MN and participated in the Ladies Aid. She really enjoyed playing and singing in the Kitchen Band. Most recently, she spent a lot of time with friends, attending Bible Study, Devotions, playing Bingo and other social gatherings at The Rivers in Burnsville, MN.

Blanche was called home to be with the Lord on May 15, 2019 at the age of 92. She is survived by her children, David of DeLeon Springs, FL, Paul (Renee) of Rochester, MN, Richard (Tammy) of Lewisville, Mark (Barbara) of Port Orange, FL, Diane (Jim) Metzler of Eagan, MN, John of Springville, IA, Mary (Tim) Clawson of Eagan,MN, Lynn Cordova of Apple Valley, MN, Carol (Rich) Rakness of Huron, SD; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, George Larsen; sisters, Caroline Nimps, Alice Olson, Artis Wolf and Dolores Wolf. She was preceded in death by her husband and infant son; parents; brothers, Kenneth, Kermit, Andrew, Willis; sisters, Edith, Rosella, Ellen, Bona Jean; son-in-law, Michael Cordova; step-granddaughter, Kaia Banios and great-granddaughter, Eden Hagen.
