FAIRMONT — Memorial services for James “Jim” E. Fellersen, 67, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will follow the service at Lakeside Cemetery, Fairmont. Military honors will be provided by the Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 and the Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1222 of Fairmont.

Jim passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 2, 2019, at his home in Fairmont. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

James Edward Fellersen was born July 8, 1951, in Fairmont, Minn., to Clarence and Irene (Hughes) Fellersen. He graduated from Fairmont Senior High School with the class of 1969. Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army in July of 1969 and served in Vietnam and Germany until being honorably discharged in February of 1972.

Jim was united in marriage to Debra Clark in Madison, Wis. They were later divorced. Jim lived in Madison and then later moved to Fairmont. He worked at Gunthers Foods, Armour (Fairmont Foods), and Fairmont Tamper.

Jim was a member of the Martin County VFW Post 1222, Disabled American Veterans, Vietnam Veterans of America and served on the VFW Honor Guard.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips, Las Vegas casino trips, long walks and the outdoors.

He is survived by his fiancée, Ruth Emery of Fairmont; son, Craig Fellersen of Fairmont; daughter, Jennifer Varnrobinson of Mesa, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Jaren, Jada and Hunter; two brothers, Owen (Sherry) Fellersen of Fairmont and Ken (Kathy) Fellersen of Monona, Wis.; sister-in-law, Barb Fellersen of Fairmont; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Jean Fellersen; and brother, Donald Fellersen.
