FAIRMONT — Memorial services for Darrel Floyd Hagedorn, 89, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Burial will follow the service in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth, Minn. Visitation with a luncheon will begin noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church.

Darrel passed away Monday morning, Dec. 3, 2018, at the Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont.

Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Darrel Floyd Hagedorn was born April 16, 1929, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Floyd and Vera (Farrow) Hagedorn. They later moved to Blue Earth, where he attended Blue Earth High School. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth.

He married Opal Christian in 1947. They lived in Blue Earth, where he worked at the Marshall Wells store as a plumber. They moved to Fairmont in 1954. He worked for Don Small Plumbing and Felber and Cavers Plumbing until he opened his own business, Hagedorn Plumbing, in 1980. He retired in 1991.

Darrel was an Eagles Club member and a member of the Conservation Club. He loved hunting, fishing and NASCAR racing.

He is survived by daughters, Shirley Jensen and her husband, Virgil of Plymouth, Sheryl Rolling and her husband, Dan of Truman, Minn.; son, Steven Hagedorn and his wife, Jan of Rochester, Minn.; grandchildren, Lisa Jensen, Lori Jensen, Melissa (Eric) Erstad, Elizabeth (Mike) Miller, Nathan (Sarah) Rolling, Sam Hagedorn and Joe Hagedorn; great-grandchildren, Cody (Andrew) Baccam, Braden Elison, Trey and Kyler Svendsen, Levi Little Elk, Sawyer Erstad, Meredith Miller, Owen Haefner, and Norah Rolling; brothers, Darwin Hagedorn and his wife, Mary, of Ely, Wally Hagedorn and his wife, Conie, of Northfield; sisters, Janice Mattson of Lakefield, Sandy Sukulski and her husband, Rick, of Layton, Utah; sister-in-law, Betty Hagedorn (widow of Donald) of Blue Earth; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Opal Hagedorn; infant son, Wayne Allen Hagedorn; sisters, Betty Ogilvie, Jacqueline Schwager, Jeraldine Schall; and brothers, Roger, Merrill, Ronnie, Kenny and Donald Hagedorn.
