DELAVAN — James Arthur Hoppe, 45, of Delavan, Minn., passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 4, 2018.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Patton Funeral Home, 400 E. 14th St. in Blue Earth, Minn. Interment will be at Amsterdam Cemetery, Kanawha, Iowa.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Patton Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday. Online condolences may be left at www.pattonfh.com

James was born March 1, 1973, in Blue Earth, Minn., to Phyllis Hoppe and Larry Fenske. James graduated from Blue Earth High School and was a proud member of the class of 1991.

He enjoyed driving semi-trucks and worked for Triple J of Fairmont, Dallman Trucking of Wells and E Farms of Buffalo Center, Iowa.

James had an extreme love for his five children and the children he adopted in his heart and mind.

James had many hobbies in his life. He loved riding motorcycles, especially his Harley. He rode in the Freedom Run in Minnesota Lake every year and the Freedom Rally of A.B.A.T.E. of Iowa. James enjoyed cooking, smoking and grilling meats for his friends and family. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping with his family. If it had a motor, James broke it, including snowmobiles, four-wheelers, side by sides and other vehicles.

James loved his friends and family. James had an infectious and unique laugh. Whenever he laughed, others joined in. He spent hours around a bonfire, reminiscing and telling stories. He was always the life of the party, if you met him, you weren’t going to forget him.

James is survived by his mother, Phyllis; five children, Alaina (Adam Krisak) Hoppe of Duluth, Paige Hoppe, Kira Hoppe, Joshua Hoppe, and his youngest, Jenna Hoppe all of Delavan; adopted children, Brittany (Kyren Hansen) Albrecht, Summer Albrecht, both of Easton, and Lizzie Beckmann; grandma, Dorothy Hoppe of Winnebago; father, Larry Fenske; stepbrother, Shane Fenske; stepsisters, Torre (Chad) Eckmann and Linda (Randy) Larson; and many other loving relatives and friends.

James was preceded in death by his grandpa, Arthur LeRoy Hoppe; and uncle, Larry Hoppe.
