WINNEBAGO — Norvina J. DeNeui, age 94, of Winnebago, Minn., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at Heartland Truman Senior Living. A memorial visitation will be held 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago. A private family burial will take place in the spring. Norvina was born Feb. 11, 1923, in Kossuth County, Iowa, the daughter of Lars and Minnie Garvick. As a young girl, she made her home with her Aunt Bertha and Uncle Carl Thomas.

She married Allie “Al” DeNeui on Feb. 25, 1944.

Norvina was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Legion Auxiliary, Garden Court Council and assisted with senior dining at MVAC. Norvina worked seven years at the S & L Store and 10 years at Electro Craft in Winnebago.

She loved to go dancing, playing cards and bird watching. She was excellent at crocheting and made blankets for her great- granddaughters that they cherish.

Norvina is survived by her son, Dennis (Kathy) DeNeui of Fairmont, Minn.; granddaughter, Kelly (Roderick) Johnson of Lakeville, Minn.; two great-granddaughters, Kaleigh and Ayva Johnson; three sisters, Junis Huston and Minnie Michaels of Elmore, and Violet (Bob) Armstrong of Stockton, Calif.; one brother, Leonard (Carolyn) of Steen; and numerous beloved nephews, nieces, and friends.

Norvina was preceded in death by her husband, Allie; eight brothers, George, Marvin, Morris, Milford, Richard, Lars, Junior, and Henry; three sisters, Ida, Anna, and Lillian; four brothers-in-law, Alvin, Leonard, Harold and Elso; and three sisters-in-law, Hanna, Julia, and Louise.
