Phyllis F. Fowler

WINNEBAGO — Services for Phyllis F. Fowler, 83, of Winnebago, Minn., will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, at Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fairmont. Burial will follow the service in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.

Phyllis passed away Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Mankato, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Phyllis Fay (Peyman) Fowler was born Aug. 9, 1934, in Martin County, Minn., the daughter of Erwin and Bernice (Evans) Peyman. Phyllis attended school in Fairmont where she graduated from high school. On April 24, 1953, Phyllis was united in marriage to George H. Fowler in Fairmont. They lived in Blue Earth, Fairmont and Winnebago, where they raised eight children. In 2004, Phyllis entered Parker Oaks Care Facility and then moved to the Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato, where she has resided the past 10 years. Phyllis was a member of Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fairmont. She enjoyed time with her family and always kept track of family birthdays. She also cherished outings with George and participating in all the activities at the Hillcrest Care Center. Those that will cherish her memory include her husband, George Fowler of Fairmont; eight children, Diane Henry and her husband, David, of Fairbanks, Alaska, Ron Fowler and his wife, Dora, of Truman, Gary Fowler and his wife, Julie, of Fairmont, Sharon R. Fowler of Fairmont, Brian Fowler and his wife, Karen, of Eagle Lake, Wendell Fowler and his wife, Sharon L., of Fairmont, Janelle Mowery and her husband, Rodney, of Rosharon, Texas, MerriDee Shumski and special friend, Steve Wenzel, of Fairmont; 18 grandchildren and spouses; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Veryl Peyman and his wife, Helen, of Buckeye, Ariz.; brother-in-law, Charles Fowler and his wife, Debra, of Ariz.; sister-in-law, Lois Peterson of Fairmont; other relatives and friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Bernice Peyman; one great-grandson, Calder Hanson; and brothers-in-law, Harold Fowler and Dean Peterson. Memorials are preferred to the activities department of Hillcrest Care Center in Mankato.
