POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. — Leo Douglas Heimendinger died Monday, May 15, 2017. Memorial services were held May 19, at Grace Baptist Church in Powder Springs.
Leo Douglas Heimen-dinger was born March 19, 1930, in Brookings, S.D., the youngest child of Russell and Mayme Heimen-dinger.
He married Carol Claussen and they had four children.
On May 27, 1983, he married Grace Steinhorst. The family now includes his four children, her four children, 23 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Leo taught school for several years; one year in Welcome, Minn., over 30 in Truman, Minn., two years in Blue Eye, Mo., and a short time in Baxite, Ark.
He spent many years working with the Boy Scouts and in various ministries.
Leo will be greatly missed by his wife, Grace; children, Dawn Heimen-dinger, Wade Heimendinger, Thad Heimendinger, Jed Heimendinger; and all the grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
