TRUMAN — Funeral services for Lisa R. Carlson, 45, of Truman, Minn., previously of Garvin, Minn., will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman, with Pastor Krista Strum officiating. Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery, rural Garvin, Minn.

Lisa went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at her home in Truman after a courageous 5-year battle with ALS. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at Zaharia Family Funeral & Cremation Service of Truman, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.

Lisa Rae Rasmussen was born May 16, 1971, in Tracy, Minn., to Eugene and Lilah (Kopitzke) Rasmussen. She attended schools in Garvin and graduated from Tracy-Milroy-Balaton High School. Lisa went on to graduate from Minnesota West Community College in Pipestone with an AA.S-MLT in 2002.

She lived in Garvin, Dawson, Pipestone, Redwood Falls, and moved to Truman in 2007. Lisa was a Medical Laboratory Technician and worked for the Redwood Area Hospital and for the Mayo Clinic-Fairmont. On Dec. 31, 1993, Lisa was united in marriage to Roger Charles Carlson, Jr. at Lake Sarah Lutheran Church in Garvin, Minn.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Roger, Jr. of Truman; her children, Caitlyn, Mikayla, Darin, Jonah, Jordan, all of Truman, Ashley of Lake Mary, Fla.; the light of her life, granddaughter, Sophia Rae; mother, Lilah (Kopitzke) Rasmussen; siblings, Gene (Mary) Rasmussen of Staples, Minn., Becky (Sherman) Sheets of Staples, Gale (Kevin) Lacek of Canby, Minn., Conrad (Barb) Rasmussen of Garvin, Minn., Dallas (Tami) Rasmussen of Welcome, Minn., Wade (fianceé Rhonda) Rasmussen of Sioux Falls, S.D., Jeff (fianceé Sarah) Rasmussen of Marshall, Minn., Darrell (Amy) Rasmussen of Dawson, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene; her sister, Terry Lynn; her niece, Kassandra Ann; grandmother-in-law, Margaret Carlson; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
