Petersmeyer named vice president

BROOKLYN PARK — Vista Prairie Communities, a nonprofit provider of assisted-living, independent-living, memory care and care suites in Minnesota, Iowa and Ohio, has announced the appointment of Anna Petersmeyer as vice president and chief operating officer.

Petersmeyer will join VPC on Nov. 2, coming from Volunteers of America – Minnesota and Wisconsin, where she has served as chief operating officer for nearly three years.

Petersmeyer received the 2015 Leadership Award from National Volunteers of America for outstanding operational management in Housing, Older Adult Services and Assisted Living.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and an MBA from Bethel University.

Nike reports profit of $1.52 billion

BEAVERTON, Ore. (AP) — Nike Inc. on Tuesday reported fiscal first-quarter profit of $1.52 billion.

On a per-share basis, the Beaverton, Oregon-based company said it had profit of 95 cents.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 48 cents per share.

The athletic apparel maker posted revenue of $10.59 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Ten analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $9.17 billion.

Nike shares have risen 15% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has climbed roughly 3%. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $116.87, a climb of 33% in the last 12 months.

AutoZone nets $740.5 million

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — AutoZone Inc. on Tuesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter profit of $740.5 million.

On a per-share basis, the Memphis, Tennessee-based company said it had net income of $30.93.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $24.74 per share.

The auto parts retailer posted revenue of $4.55 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $4.07 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $1.73 billion, or $71.93 per share.
