CEYLON — The Ceylon Summer Auction begins at 8:30 a.m. today, July 19, with two rings of auctioneers working.

Our neighbors in Welcome will have their Summer Festival this weekend with a parade at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and city-wide garage sales and more. Plan to attend.

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have a communion service at 5:30 p.m. tonight, July 19. Area residents are welcome to join them on the first and third Saturdays.

The Congregation at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Wilbert will have their quarterly voters’ meeting following the service at 10 a.m. All members are encouraged to attend.

Sundaes at the Park, a music and ice cream event with Mike Ennis as the entertainment, will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, at the Triumph Memorial Park in Trimont. Take a lawn chair and enjoy the evening.

The Circle of Faith children will have Vacation Bible School from July 20 to July 24 at the Covenant Church in Trimont, with First Lutheran Church and Waverly Church. This is for children in grades pre-school to sixth grade. They begin at 5:20 p.m. with a light supper and finish at 8 p.m.

The Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution is planned from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 21, at the parking lot of the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. $25 will get a trunk full of groceries.

The American Red Cross blood drive will be on Monday, July 21, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont, Aug. 4 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, Aug. 6 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont and on Aug. 8 at LiveFit gym in Fairmont. Tuesday Coffee Hours will continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. The Thursday Coffee Lovers meet each Thursday at that time at the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. Join these times for fellowship and good coffee with friends and neighbors.

The Friendship Club from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn invites area residents to join them for brunch/breakfast at 9 a.m. on Aug. 4 at the Green Mill Patio in Fairmont. Membership at St. John’s is not required.

The upcoming quasquicentennial (125th Anniversary) of the founding of Ceylon is planned for Aug. 7 to Aug. 10 this summer.
